MAS & the Little Island Tour

MAS & the Little Island Tour

To product
Antwerp has a new museum on, MAS, and is proud of it! The Impressive “Museum aan de Stroom” or Museum by the river brings this once so bustling neighborhood to new hights.

Parading on the boulevard along the docks it’s tempting to imagine yourself in a luxurious resort on the French Riviera. However, this is the perfect place to remember  a time when sailing was vital for many, rather than relaxation for a few. And think of the uncertainty of emigrants who left everything and everyone behind when boarding or trying to board a Red Line ship hoping to build a new life with brandnew opportunities in another world.

Admire the Felixwarehouse which literally holds the city’s memories in storage, the archives, andwhere you can enjoy a nice lunch or dinner at Felix Nu in a wonderfully renovated historical building. And for those interested in the port of Antwerp, we will visit the Port Pavilion which will answer all questions. The floor of the pavillion is composed of a sattelite photo of the port. You will immediately understand why Antwerp is the second largest port in Europe.
Try to find your current location if you can! Marvel at the various construction projects which give you a good impression of how this neighborhood will look like in a few years. A fusion of past and present, with a hopeful look to the future.

The highlight of this tour is a visit of the unique promenade with escalators all the way to the rooftop of the MAS (weather permitting) where the whole city will be at your feet. To finish the tour, we visit one of the cozy pubs in the neighborhood for a drink. A trendy bar, a sailor café, a sunny terrace overlooking the water.

This tour includes a drink and a MAS souvenir.

The tour runs from Tuesday to Sunday.
Duration: +/- 2,5 hours

Please note : the price is based on a minimum of 15 participants.
The rooftopterrace is closed in really bad weather. Not accessible for wheelchair.
